POSITION SUMMARY: Involved primarily in underwriting and acquisition due diligence. As part of the National Lending team, analyze potential loan originations, as well as assets under consideration for purchase and provide insight and recommendations to Senior Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct loan file review, credit analysis, and marketing research relating to asset and portfolio risk.
- Conduct borrower calls or meetings to assess sponsor dynamics related to the lending opportunities.
- Complete credit underwriting and coordinate with real estate, relationship management, and legal.
- Present loan origination or acquisition opportunities at the Bank's credit committee meetings, where credit risks are evaluated and quantified.
- Provide consulting to asset management and loan acquisitions as needed.
- Assist in making recommendations whether or not to pursue due diligence on loan portfolios, based on preliminary views of credit and real estate risk.
- Successfully pass technical and regulatory examinations by the Company.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task and self-motivate
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong research skills - both on the Internet and phone
- Bachelor's degree required
- 4+ years of experience in banking or real estate related topics
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND CONDITIONS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
- Some travel is required.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 20lbs.
- Consistently operates a computer and other office equipment such as calculator, copy machine and printers.
- Climate controlled general office setting with moderate noise level.
- Must express or exchange ideas with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
