Job Description


As a Trust & Estate Associate here at NorthRock Partners, you will provide exemplary support, and drive synchronization across internal subject matter experts. This role is uniquely positioned to impact both our exceptional clients and advisory team.



  • Review estate planning documents; provide Advisors with industry leading, proactive, comprehensive advice to provide to their clients.
  • Actively monitor beneficiaries on client accounts
  • Work with outside counsel to get client’s estate planning documents drafted and implemented
  • Provide individualized guidance on funding, titling, and asset ownership
  • Assist with organizing and analyzing asset information
  • Strategize asset allocation based on overall estate goals
  • Continuously improve client service standards
  • Interpret client documents to answer client questions
  • Become a trusted member of the client’s team
  • Keep all aspects of CRM (Client Relationship Management system) up-to-date
  • Coordinate special requests and client projects
  • Work closely with Strategists to design and implement improved processes and operational policies
  • Expand professional development by identifying and pursuing Continuing Education opportunities
  • Actively engage in available firmwide training



  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or related focus
  • 3+ years experience in a support function
  • Estate planning or other relevant strategic planning experience preferred
  • Experience in the areas including: estate planning, estate settlement, estate, GST & transfer taxes, business formation & sales, beneficiaries & titling preferred
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage lateral and upwards
  • Experience with a CRM database is appreciated (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Emotional intelligence, professional mindset, and the utmost discretion with clients
  • Strong communication skills, both written & verbal
  • Proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office and Apple iOS mobile; must be very tech savvy
