Job Description

SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for strategically developing, assessing, updating and implementing marketing and communications content on a regular basis to target audiences based on the marketing plan of the Association.


  • Develops and executes a professional and proactive content strategy across all channels to promote the association and its events, programs, and resources; delegates tasks to graphic design contractor or other team members as needed.
  • Directs, produces, shoots and edits video projects, and ensures projects are on track and on budget; serves as a subject matter expert on video content production and post-production processes.
  • Directs photography and vidoegraphy for association events, serving as photographer/videographer or managing third party partners to ensure events are documented for promotional and historical purposes.
  • Manages the production of bi-monthly web livestream featuring interviews with industry influencers, educators, and business experts.
  • Monitors and responds to online conversations across all platforms including queries, online reviews, and feedback from members and fans.
  • Oversees email campaigns to promote events and special programs/initiatives.
  • Coordinates and delegates work to the Graphic Design Consultant.
  • Updates website content and performs routine light website maintenance.
  • With Marketing Operations Manager, creates a social media strategy that optimizes effective channels to the association's target audiences. Devises optimal posting schedules based on web traffic and other member engagement metrics, and stays current with changing social media environments to ensure maximum reach and engagement.
  • Collaborates and works with all essential departments in the organization to assess needs for the associations’ communication strategy.
  • Creates a social media strategy that optimizes available channels to the Associations' target audiences - Devises optimal posting schedules based on web traffic and other member engagement metrics, and stays current with changing social media environments to ensure maximum reach and engagement.
  • Maintains digital record-keeping systems in accordance with company policy and maintains safekeeping of company documents and records.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or a similar field, or a minimum of two to three years experience creating strong, engaging content.
  • Computer skills required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, and video editing software. Experience with Email Marketing Systems, Social Media Management Tools, and Website Content Management Software is preferred.
  • Other skills required:
    1. Video editing experience
    2. An understanding of SEO best practices
    3. Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
    4. The capacity to work independently and collaboratively
    5. Demonstrated excellence in writing, proofreading and editing
    6. Strong listening and communication skills
    7. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
