Job Description

Licensed Outpatient Therapist

Reports to: TANF Director

Location: TANF Locations

Responsibilities: This full-time, exempt clinical position works closely with tribal citizens to improve the health and wellbeing of the community. This position will focus on providing behavioral health services that are culturally appropriate and unique to the individuals. In addressing client mental health issues, the therapist will focus on using the biopsychosocial model. This position will provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions, and will work to get clients into other comprehensive services to support their health and wellness.

Salary Information: G11/S3-G11/S10 2021 RUS ($68,960 - $84,049 per year) D.O.E.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education – Masters in Social Work (MSW) or master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited university or program.
  • Experience – Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
  • License/Certification – Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Valid CA driver’s license.
  • Skill(s) – Excellent communication (verbal/written), client-focused, compassionate, detail-oriented, flexible and dependable. Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office) and highly organized. Culturally sensitive to Native American issues and impact on mental health.
