Essential Job Duties:
The BioInterface Lab (biointerface.ece.ncsu.edu) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in collaboration with the BioTherapeutics Lab (chenglab.cvm.ncsu.edu). The postdoc will be involved in cardiac tissue engineering and microfluidic cell culture. Cardiac stem cell patches will be engineered with integrated microvessels for conditioning with pulsatile perfusion. The performance of the engineering cardiac stem cell patches will be evaluated in rodent models of acute myocardial infarction.
Duties & Responsibilities: ? Review scientific literature on cardiac tissue engineering, microfluidics, and in situ electrical stimulation ? Develop microfluidics systems for various biomedical applications, including system integration, electrical design and more ? Conduct research on advanced applications of tissue engineering ? Work with other members of the lab and of other labs to conduct collaborative scientific research ? Write and publish scientific papers in peer reviewed journals and submit abstracts to conferences each year ? Contribute to day-to-day workings of the research lab ? Mentor under-graduate\graduate research assistance
Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., M.D., D.V.M., Sc.D.) in appropriate field awarded no more than five (5) years from initial date of postdoctoral appointment.
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field. Preferred experience in Biomedical Engineering
