Job Description:

Assistant General Manager   You will be responsible for the overall care and well-being of the animals at our facility. Confidently and effectively leads to ensure all aspects of the lodging/daycare departments operate in accordance with standards set forth by the facility, ultimately resulting in an uncompromising experience for each customer and K9 guest. Responsibilities: Demonstrate, embrace, exhibit decisions and behavior that embody our Mission and Core Values Training of new staff Report any Team Member performance issues to the manager Maintaining and creating staff schedules Delegation of job responsibilities depending on volume of lodging/daycare Conflict resolutions between staff members Documenting feedback of employees Assist in Team Member counseling sessions Maintaining/updating staff training manual/system binders Scheduling lodging and grooming appointments Addressing client questions and concerns Give facility tours Customer service interaction by phone and in person Receipt of payments/balance end of day documents Administering medication, including injections Communicate changes of animal status with management Ensure instructions from owners are being followed Assist with repair/maintenance of lodging and daycare areas and equipment Keep records of animal feedings, treatments, and other updates Engage in play activities and exercise with the animals Perform lodging/daycare duties daily Maintain a clean and healthy environment Managing supply inventory Handle general care tasks such as feeding and light grooming of the animals Perform daily inspections of facilities to monitor the general health of animals and insure proper medical care is rendered in a timely and efficient manner Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, holidays and special events as needed and required Qualifications: Previous experience in animal care or other related fields preferred Experience in customer service Supervisory experience preferred Passion to help and treat animals Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Desired knowledge and experience with:   Interpreting, explaining, and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and regulations Selecting, supervising, training and evaluating staff Establishing, maintaining and fostering positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Leading by positive example by promoting positive, collaborative and professional working relations among staff Using persuasion and diplomacy to achieve consensus and cooperation, especially on difficult or divisive issues Working on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously Remaining flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, assignments and other interruptions which may impact pre-established timelines and courses of action for completing projects and assignments.   CORE COMPETENCIES:   Dog Lover Quality of Customer focus: Continuously looking for ways to simplify and improve work processes to achieve better results. Seeking and accepting feedback for self-improvement without becoming defensive.     PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENT:   Requires a wide range of constant physical activities, including but not limited to sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, pushing, and reaching Frequent repetitive movements Requires close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception Continuous exposure to moderate noise Frequent walking and standing on hard surfaces Frequent movement, lifting or carrying of weight up to 50 pounds Frequent exposure to dust, fumes, blood, body fluids, dog excrement, urine and vomit.
