Creative Services Specialist

Reporting to the Creative Services Manager, the Creative Services Specialist’s primary responsibility is to produce and distribute compelling marketing materials in support of strategic initiatives. The Specialist will work closely with the Creative Services Manager to create innovative, trend and design led marketing materials for both the Norix and Tonik brands. Responsible for helping to drive the creative direction of campaigns, an understanding of typography, layout, and art direction will be needed to help the team produce the best work possible. An ideal candidate would possess strength in both illustration and graphic design with a broad and versatile portfolio showing their design hand and use of color, layout and text. In this role, the designer may create new artwork or may reformat existing art to create new assets. Knowledge of the pre-press processes and image retouching are a must. Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) and photography are a plus but not required. This is a junior designer level position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide creative insight into brand and product positioning
  • Contribute to website for design, optimization and current updates
  • Integrate effective messaging in multiple online platforms (i.e. social, blog, website etc.)
  • Collaborate on and off page website optimization techniques
  • Respond to website performance metrics of RFQs, traffic and rankings
  • Enrich materials for print and electronic advertising
  • Provide design support for email marketing materials
  • Assist trade show design and support materials
  • Produce and update product support materials (website, spec page, brochure, price list etc.)
  • Provide creative support to Sales
  • Provide collateral and support for Portal extranet
  • Support multimedia sales meeting efforts

Qualifications:

  • BFA/BA in graphic design or related field
  • 3-5 years of practical work experience as a Graphic Designer
  • 2 years of work experience in a studio or in-house environment
  • A portfolio displaying proven conceptual and visual design
  • Excellent design/layout and production skills and efficiency in standard graphics software (Adobe)
  • Basic knowledge of video editing and motion graphics
  • Strong concepting and design skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to design within branding guidelines

Ideal candidate skills:

  • Must be proficient in Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Must have a broad design portfolio
  • Must be detail oriented and exceptional organized (almost to a fault)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must perform well under pressure and the ability to meet deadlines in high pressure environment
  • Knowledge of social media resource requirements
  • Maintain broad consistency throughout work
  • Must be willing to do manual labor tasks (move product & equipment for shoots)
  • Able to accept criticism and modify designs accordingly
  • Take initiative to present new ideas of innovation

Communication is a big part of the job, so the junior designer must feel confident enough to contribute to the entire creative process.

  • Prezi, PowerPoint
