Job Description

As a Crane Operator, you play an integral role in creating a safe and efficient environment for your team and also aiding quality apartments for our residents to call home for years to come. You will work with our team in new construction, building apartments from the ground up. To be successful in this role you must be reliable, detail oriented, and communicate effectively. Exceptional candidates are those who are driven, love to work hard alongside their team, have excellent leadership skills, and are dedicated to teaching others.

A) Journeyman - $38.00/hr.
B) Apprentice 4 - $34.00/hr.
C) Apprentice 3 - $29.00/hr.
D) Apprentice 2 - $26.00/hr.
E) Apprentice 1 - $23.00/hr.

  • Operate Norharts Tower Crane to assist in the construction of luxury apartment buildings across various jobsites in the state of Minnesota.
  • Aid all trades by performing general labor tasks when not operating the crane.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections.
  • Be knowledgeable of the correct way to determine crane lifting capacity.
  • Work and communicate with other trades to coordinate site organization.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand hand signals and properly rig intricate picks.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate a tower crane (self-erecting and city crane) to ensure efficient erection of large commercial construction projects.
  • Assist Norhart's framing carpentry team in making calculated picks of walls, trusses, and structural materials in an efficient manner



  • High school diploma or equivalent


  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Proficient in using tools such as saws, sanders, drills, planers, etc. is a plus
  • Have 1-2 years of construction experience
  • A minimum of 50 hours of crane operation, or a nationally certified crane operator & in rigging.
  • Ability to lift 50-100 pounds as needed
  • Comfortable with ladders & heights

  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle with proper insurance
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
