Sales Specialist, FDM and Specialty

Job Description

 The Sales Specialist, FDM & Specialty role is responsible for soliciting leads and orders via the telephone and fields phone calls from Internet Resellers, Retail Pet Resellers and FDM accounts. They will be working with all assigned Corporate Internet, Pet, and Mass accounts. The Sales Specialist is responsible for understanding and managing assigned territory to maximize and grow sales by selling Nordic Naturals products to existing accounts and by acquiring new accounts. Work requires substantial knowledge of all products, respective product categories, strong communication and relationship building skills. This role can lead to future Account Management opportunities in the division.   

In this role you will:   

  • Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business.   
  • Process Orders and Invoicing   
  • Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously   
  • Support and grow business in existing accounts through successful account partnership and utilization of marketing programs   
  • Responsible for account promotional planning, new and existing item sell in and merchandising enhancements where appropriate.   
  • Monitor day-to-day business and sales metrics   
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive opportunities and product innovations providing feedback to National Account Manager and Director of Sales and corporate headquarters when necessary.   
  • Analyze account sales data, market conditions and events, customer issues and competitive intelligence.   
  • Utilize data to drive sales planning, forecasting, and ROI.   
  • Contact potential clients by telephone in order to solicit sales/generate leads.   
  • Initiate new product approvals and optimize products offered by resellers.   
  • Explain products or services and prices, and answer questions from customers.   
  • Obtain customer information such as name, address, and payment method, and enter orders into database.   
  • Record names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects contacted.   
  • Adjust sales scripts to better target the needs and interests of specific individuals.  
  • Answer telephone calls from potential customers who have been solicited through advertisements.   
  • Maintain records of contacts, accounts, and orders.   
  • Strategize and grow business into new markets and stores.   
  • Conduct client or market surveys in order to obtain information about potential customers.   
  • Represent the company at trade shows, sales meetings and other venues as requested.   
  • Offer strategic feedback and support to territory product demonstrators as requested   
  • Utilize co-op advertising and promotional budget to partner with accounts to increase sales   
  • Meet or exceed sales goals   
  • Other duties as assigned.    

  

Qualifications   

  •  1-3 years sales experience in FDM, Pet and e-tail channels preferred  
  •  Must be proficient with MS Office and have intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills
