Job Description

The Manager, Graphic Design will lead the development and management of our look and feel based on strategic and brand direction in order to effectively communicate the company’s vision, mission and values. The ideal candidate will have a strong visual and aesthetic sense with the ability to give as well as receive design direction to create best in class brand expressions.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with marketing team to take written and verbal briefs to create concepts, layouts, and designs
  • Lead design of key marketing collateral across core physical and digital assets advertisements, banners, brochures, catalogs, sell sheets, packaging, displays,
    labels, videos, presentations, Direct work flow and assign projects in partnership with project management.
  • Manage all graphic design personnel to achieve the best outcome on projects.
  • Develop and execute projects from concept to implementation.
  • Develop and implement Brand standards and guidelines
  • Undertake continuous analysis of design trends
  • Lead, coach, and develop the graphic design team

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Required B.F.A., B.A. or B.S. in Graphic Design.
  • Agency or corporate marketing experience
  • Previous team management required
  • Strong design portfolio
  • Experience in dynamic data base driven design production
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Typography
  • Knowledge of graphic use across multiple media and platforms.
  • Experience with ad, corporate identity, packaging, web, interactive and literature design as well as a solid understanding of the creative process.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience managing creative resources, marketing projects and packaging for a large organization or agency
  • Comprehensive knowledge of guidelines and standards Development.
  • Printing process, online publishing and related file setup.
  • Understanding of legal requirements, trademarks and right of use.
  • Experience in consumer product marketing and the Natural Products Industry preferred.

 

Computer Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Professional graphics software including Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Macintosh computer systems
  • Knowledge of Professional interactive software.
  • General understanding of multimedia and video applications.

  • Proven leadership and innovative collaboration
  • Experience successfully coaching, and enabling high-performing teams, while holding employees accountable
  • Experience creating for high-quality brands and products
  • Ability to multi-task while constantly seeking new opportunities to improve the quality, skills and output of graphic design team
  • Demonstrated strategic, creative, and critical thinking skills. Can facilitate strategic and creative brainstorming and help translate and map-out ideas to actionable projects and processes.
  • Ability to work directly with content providers
  • Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively with others.
  • Problem solving capabilities.
  • Proofreading work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project management including time estimating, logging and reporting skills

 

Other Requirements:

  • This is a full time, in house position at our headquarters in Watsonville, California.
  • Telecommuting will not be considered.
