Location: Anaheim, CA

**Incumbent eligible for a $500 signing bonus payable after 6 months of continuous service **

Position Summary: This position is responsible for conducting analysis and experimentation on substances to support production efforts utilizing quantitative and qualitative analysis.   The Analytical Technician will also utilize appropriate analytical methodologies and instrumentation to approve intermediate process materials to defined requirements in accordance with established procedures. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times
  • Provides instrument-based (HPLC and other instruments) analytical support for Production and customers.
  • Performs intermediate, final products, raw materials and packages testing.
  • Prepares reagents and performs solution standardizations.
  • Conducts instrument performance verification and calibration.
  • Raw materials sampling and shipping for shelf life extension.
  • Water sampling for external lab analysis.
  • Provide support for Microbiology functions as needed.
  • Provide support for pH Control functions as needed.
  • Orders supplies.
  • Adheres to laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Documents research projects.
  • Assists with laboratory housekeeping.
  • General

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum Associate's degree, Bachelor degree preferred, in Chemistry with 0-2 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Education may be waived in lieu of experience.
  • Mathematical skills, ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, averages and ratios.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Language Skills: English proficiency required.  Spanish is a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high places and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold and extreme heat. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but the employee may occasionally be exposed to high level noises including but not limited to manufacturing equipment.
