The Data Center is seeking a skilled Senior Data Analyst who understands how to use and validate data within context to support The Data Center’s impactful research and publications. The primary function of the Senior Data Analyst is to research, obtain, validate, interpret, analyze, and document data used for answering The Data Center’s research questions. This position is central to the implementation of research studies and projects that require identifying, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting primary and secondary data and research.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Data wrangling, utilizing statistical methods to produce valid data, and leveraging programmatic data analysis tools to analyze, ingest, transform, and extract data.
Evaluate and present to the team how datasets can be used within context of relevant research questions.
Transform, manage, and geocode large amounts of data from a wide variety of sources, organizing data, files, and information.
Co-author written analysis for reports, briefs, blogs, and presentations suitable for the Research Team and for a general audience.
Clearly document step-by-step processes used to complete data analysis tasks and improve upon protocols for data quality control to ensure accuracy.
Maintain and contribute to The Data Center's institutional knowledge for standards, procedures, and metadata for data research, analysis, and data management.
Document analysis procedures and produce technical documentation, including the limitations of data, to ensure a high-level of transparency.
Guide the maintenance, expansion, and use of data products as existing datasets are updated and new datasets are released.
Assist in the development, expansion, and implementation of new research projects and analysis, including relevant literature review, research of data sources, and quality assurance.
Help development, expansion, and implementation of new research concepts and questions based on peer-reviewed literature.
Assist in answering data requests received through the website, directly from stakeholders, and/or associated with grant or contract supported endeavors.
Assist in researching and assessing technology tools and resources.
Provide general research assistance on various research projects.
