The Information Services (IS) department is seeking a Financial Business Systems Administrator to manage a variety of financial systems and ensure the technical health of our financial infrastructure. This position will work closely with both the IS and Finance departments to design and maintain an optimal financial systems model that drives stability, value, and efficiency for the organization. The ideal candidate is hands-on and focused, passionate about building high-quality systems utilizing software best practices, and experienced with financial systems, implementation, and support. Collaborating with internal team members and external consultants, this person will be responsible for understanding requirements and translating them into system functions. This position will be integral to the overall development, delivery, maintenance, continuity, and support of our core financial systems, ensuring that the technical environment and functionality are optimized and that all users are well-positioned with the knowledge needed to effectively use the systems to their fullest.

  • Manage the integration and implementation of financial technologies and systems workflow
  • Implement controls to proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and mitigate vulnerabilities in our financial applications and infrastructure, ensuring the integrity and availability for end users
  • Serve as the primary contact for the financial system and integration issues, questions, and resolution
  • Design, implement and maintain configurations and customizations of financial systems to meet the organization's business needs
  • Perform regular data audits, check error logs, manage events, and optimize data model as appropriate
  • Manage all upgrades and patches of the financial platform
  • Coordinate releases and testing for all financial system updates
  • Write and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to our financial systems
  • Utilize best practices to ensure system availability, scalability, performance, and security
  • Identify opportunities for financial improvements within current applications, and collaborate with users to ensure systems are appropriately leveraged to streamline processes and drive efficiencies
  • Lead efforts in working with vendors, implementation partners, and contractors on financial activities
  • Keep up to date with current financial technologies and trends, evaluate alternative solutions, and make recommendations to management
  • Provide internal, on-going system/technical support to end users, including training and maintaining proper system access for all roles
  • Assist in writing data queries and supporting end-user requests for new reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and dashboards
  • Assist and support the Finance team with monthly close processes/procedures


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in financial systems administration, implementation, and/or support
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with system integration, APIs, and technology frameworks
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (MIS, IT-related field, and/or Finance/Accounting) or equivalent work experience required.
  • Proven understanding of financial accounting principles and system modules (General Ledger/Financials, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Revenue Recognition, Banking, Procurement, etc.)
  • Experience with systems design and configuration
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience supporting system consolidations, data migrations, and conversions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERP, infrastructure, and development best practices
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving both user and system-related issues
  • Experience managing technology and supporting vendors
  • Basic data analysis experience with Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables)
  • Experience with Great Plains, ADP, and Adaptive Insights preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce and MuleSoft integration preferred

  • Proven technology implementation experience and ability to meet functional and technical requirements
  • Excellent computer skills, including the use of accounting systems and a proficient knowledge of all Microsoft Office software
  • Passionate about building high-quality systems using software best practices
  • Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills, including critical thinking and problem solving
  • Well-developed organizational skills, solid follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently without the need for extensive direction
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and requirements

SALARY for Financial Business Systems Administrator (Starting at $84,600)

Any offered salary is determined based on competency and skills, prior relevant experience, required degrees/certifications, internal equity within the organization and market competition.
