Refrigeration and HVAC Maintenance Specialist

Purpose of the Position:
The Refrigeration/HVAC equipment maintenance specialist is responsible for performing maintenance activity on process and process support equipment in accordance with departmental schedules. They also must train and mentor other equipment techs and perform in the field troubleshooting and repairs. They must be certified and possess a license in a relevant Refrigeration/HVAC trade. The position may require shift work.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Perform assigned tasks following but not limited to (Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), On the Job Training (OJT), and Job Safety Assessment (JSA))
Perform maintenance, diagnose problems, and support correctives with a primary focus on Manufacturing and Facilities/Process refrigeration/HVAC equipment.
Responsible as first line responder but not limited to refrigeration/HVAC equipment breakdowns and repairs during manufacture including on-call availability for emergency support.
Responsible for performing and leading continuous improvement efforts related to refrigeration/HVAC process equipment and facilities to enhance reliability and reduce equipment/system downtime.
Interface with equipment vendors, procure spare parts and manage/oversees repair services.
Provide technical guidance and hands-on support, when necessary, to Facilities Technicians and Facilities/Process Engineers. Support cross-functional staff during repair and troubleshooting activities on all facility and process equipment.
Train technical personnel in the use, care, and safety of manufacturing/facility refrigeration/HVAC assets.
Job Knowledge Required:
High school diploma required, Certification, or License in any relevant refrigeration/HVAC maintenance trade is a must
5-10 years of process and refrigeration/HVAC process support equipment maintenance experience required
Experience working in a cGMP environment is preferred
Must have a Journeyman's or Master's license for the state of Massachusetts in a relevant specialty (Refrigeration)
Physical Job Requirements:
Frequently stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, kneel, crouch
Work in confined spaces
Spend long periods of time in non-tempered air
Must be able to use to grasp, maneuver, clamp, and hold objects (small/large)
Must have the ability to operate on different shifts effectively
