NiteLines USA, Inc. is looking to fill a Medical Assistant position: 30 hours per week
Location: Health Services Department at the USP and SPC, both facilities located at 1197 Airport Road, Inez, Kentucky 41224.
Hours: The contractor will normally work Monday through Thursday (except Federal holidays), normally working 3-8 hour shifts and 1-6 hour shift, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. respectively. Each workday will consist of a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch period. The Medical Assistant schedule shall not exceed thirty (30) hours per week.

Description of Responsibilities
All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the field of Medical Assistant Services, and compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations. The candidate shall adhere to all standards and regulations associated with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions. The employee must have the ability to work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, regional, racial and ethnic backgrounds. The contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited to:
The employee will: Assist the physician during chronic care clinics by obtaining vital signs and readying the inmate to be evaluated by the physician, become proficient in BEMR (the inmate electronic medical record) and help ensure clinics are scheduled and conducted according to established guidelines, assist with the administration and reading of TB skin tests, assist with the administration of any other required injections, assist at the bedside as needed during procedures conducted in Health Services, perform sterile and non-sterile dressing changes, document care rendered in BEMR, and any other tasks within the scope of the field of medical assistant services.
The employee will maintain certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) without any lapse in certification.
Education and Qualifications
The individual providing medical assistant services under this contract award must have had formal training as a medical assistant and must hold current certification in this area, or have passed the Licensed Practical Nurse exam and hold current licensure in this area. The individual must obtain the required continuing education to maintain either the certification or licensure, and must provide the COR with a copy of updated current certification or licensure.
The employee(s) must specifically identify the individual that will be performing these services under any subsequent contract award.
