1. ELECTRICAL MANUFACTURING ENGINEER JOB PURPOSE:
This role is to develop manufacturing process, improve efficiency and product quality. Review efficiencies and eliminate waste within the manufacturing process to deliver high quality products/components to defined standards. Responsible for implementation of production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements with project-based activities, including new product introduction and manufacturing design to reduce waste, improve quality and safety, and reduce operating costs.
2. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
•Develop product specifications and quality control measures
•Understand the testing, repair, and maintenance of printed circuit boards (PCB's) including programming of CPLD/FPGAs
•Generating production documentation such as work/assembly instructions and training of operation and service technicians.
•Understand the design, fabrication and integration of electrical and electronic hardware including power supplies, cabling, production test equipment and other circuit board applications
•Support all areas of production including troubleshooting and development of testing regimes.
•Design automated testing fixtures and harness to optimize production workflow.
•Audit electrical subcontractor process and quality.
•Increase efficiency of processes without compromising quality, cost, or delivery.
•Develop and implement quality control measures that effectively monitor products and guarantee desired results
•Work with the supply chain to improve product quality and delivery.
•Perform quality audits of vendors ensure quality and product standards.
•Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
3. ANCILLARY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Identify process improvements for electro-mechanical-optical assembly operations
•Assist in project management for maintains schedules and part procurement.
•Assist in global partnership by collaborating with other Nikon Engineering groups
•Assist in building and testing prototypes systems
•Maximize productivity of machinery and workers
•Identify manufacturing needs for new products in development
•Design fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks
•Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
•Manage the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
4. ELECTRICAL MANUFACTURING ENGINEER QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor or Master in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Production Engineering.
•At least 2 years of experience in electronic production engineering
•Hands-on experience with bringing up and debugging complex PCB and wire harnesses
•Basic microcontroller and programmable logic design and programming.
•Workflow and procedure for electrical assembly
•Experience in PCB manufacturing process and defect analysis
5. ELECTRICAL MANUFACTURING ENGINEER COMPETENCIES
A) Functional competencies
•Ability to read and create schematics and 2D CAD drawings
•Experience with advanced debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other instrumentation normally found in electronics testing
•Experience with testing, repair and maintenance of printed circuit boards (PCB's)
•Experience in hardware descriptive languages like VHDL/Verilog for Altera and Xilinx CPLD/FPGAs
•Computer Operation for testing and recording of test results
•Exposure to basic operations in ONX or LINUX based embedded systems
•Experience with MATLAB or equivalent data processing packages
•Ability to read and build assemblies from schematics and verbal instructions
•Ability to develop detailed test procedures
•Ability to solder and identify PCB process flaws
•Basic Mechanical assembly skills.
•Ability to develop test procedures
•Good writing and verbal skills in English
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•Most of the workday will be spent on the shop floor.
•Working inside ESD controlled and temperature-controlled areas
