You will be empowered to act autonomously and leverage your expertise to provide impactful analyses to our insurance product, finance, and operations teams.
You will take an active role in the decision making process at Next. Your role will be critical in ensuring our growing property line of business scales while maintaining profitability.What You’ll Do:Be the #1 subject matter expert at Next relating to the pricing of its property products. Build actuarial pricing methodologies to be used for projecting prospective loss ratios, rating factor relativities, impact analyses, predictive model calibration, rate filing support, and other actuarial analyses.Build actuarial methodologies to measure and manage natural catastrophe accumulation riskTranslate results into recommendations and strongly communicate them to senior managementPartner with data science and data engineering in order to expand our pricing, business intelligence and reporting capabilities relating to our property productsManage and mentor actuarial analysts on projects, enabling their career growth, and serve as a role model for the broader actuarial team as we build scalable solutions that produce high quality resultsWhat We Need: 8+ years of experience in an actuarial role including some experience with property insurance product pricingExperience managing projects and junior members of teamsExpertise with some or all of the following software: Tableau, SQL, Python, RMS/AIR, MS Office, Google SuiteACAS or FCAS preferredUnstoppable Qualities:Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to cross functional partners of varying technical knowledgeAbility to define relevant metrics that can guide and influence stakeholders to the appropriate and accurate insightsCuriosity - Desire to dig deeper and solve complex business problemsPride in the quality of their output and sharp eye for detailEntrepreneurial spirit - Willingness to work in a fast paced environment with a self driving and innovative mindsetLeadership - ability to identify needs at Next and drive development of solutions to meet them
