IT Field Service Technician

We are looking to add a Field Service Technician to our team that shares this passion for IT, and a passion for delivering an amazing client experience onsite in person.

You must be capable of supporting corporate networks – including Microsoft Office 365, VMware vSphere, Fortinet, and fundamental switching and routing.

Our Field Service Technicians will work closely with the Account Management and Service Desk teams to see requests through to completion and give and receive mentorship when opportunities arise. Field Service Technicians will split their time between the Next Digital office and our clients locations.

Duties will include:
- Act as the public face of Next Digital, demonstrating and delivering our company core values in person
- Focus on delivering an amazing client experience, and superior customer service
- Performs regular site visits to client offices in order to ensure proactive site maintenance and monitoring for multiple clients
- Resolution of client requests that require an onsite presence at client office locations, IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change)
- Creating and updating Client documentation
- Identifying sales opportunities and engaging the respective Account Manager to follow through
- Participating in or leading projects
- Installation and maintenance of infrastructure as directed

- Minimum of 5 years professional IT experience
- A relevant technical post-secondary degree or diploma
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proven track record of outstanding customer service
- Ability to stay calm in tense situations while projecting a positive, confident outlook
- Achieve and maintain an MCSA: Windows Server level certification
- Intermediate knowledge of Windows, Windows Server, Office Suite
- Basic knowledge of database services including Microsoft SQL
- Intermediate knowledge of email services including Microsoft Exchange and Office 365
- Intermediate knowledge of Active Directory, GPO’s, NTFS and share permissions
- Intermediate knowledge of networking including DNS, DHCP, Routing, VPN’s, common ISP services, UTM
- Basic knowledge of 3rd party applications utilized by assigned clients
- Basic knowledge of backup software and strategies
- Basic knowledge of file and email recovery techniques
- Familiarity with desktop hardware, installation and diagnosing basic issues
- Familiarity with network, server and storage hardware, racking and installation
- Basic knowledge of VMware and virtualization
- An availability for overtime on evenings and weekends
- An commitment to continual professional development
- An independent, self-managing work ethic with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong time management and troubleshooting skills
- Must possess a vehicle, valid driver’s license, and appropriate business-class insurance
