The Role The Content Project Manager is responsible for facilitating the execution of our product roadmap through timely and efficient delivery of our content priorities. You will own the project scoping, planning, and execution of various cross-functional team projects that help our Content team meet our quarterly and annual key deliverables (editorial, instructional content, standards and assessments, and content acquisition). Your work may cover anything from supporting sizing and forecasting resources to meet project needs, to organizing information for critical project stakeholders, to facilitating forward movement of projects while keeping the team motivated.

You'll help ensure projects are on time and within resource constraints, as well as act as the key point of contact between accountable project leads and other stakeholders to launch projects. Additionally, you'll partner with our other project managers to develop systems and processes to scale our project management function, with a goal of improving efficiencies, standardization of projects, and optimization of our work. You'll be a resource across teams, and will get to work with a wide variety of stakeholders within Newsela. You'll have an opportunity to help scale content development processes and define standardized practices for our project management team. You'll also have the opportunity to grow your project management skills, and your role will continue to grow and develop as you do. Why We'll Love You You have 3-4 years of professional work experience in roles where you exercised your project management and process development skills (formal project management experience not required).

You're an expert at taking large open-ended tasks, organizing them into actionable project plans, and executing deliverables on time, in scope, and in budget. You are a skillful communicator who can seamlessly navigate cross-departmental relationships and can articulate a clear action plan to a variety of audiences, ask insightful questions to better understand potential hurdles, and build buy-in and consensus with all stakeholders involved in a project. You've developed and rolled out new processes across several team functions, and can clearly identify and explain key process components, outcomes, and impacts, in addition to showing how data played a role in your decision-making.

You always develop metrics to track project progress and performance, and are comfortable explaining how you collected, organized, and analyzed data. While not required, experience managing freelance workers, proficiency in or Jira, and/or experience in K-12 education are a bonus.
