Senior Systems Administrator

New Venture Research Corp (NVRC) has an opening for a Senior Systems Administrator with a strong Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) background. The full-time position requires at least a SECRET security clearance and is performed onsite at Camp H.M. Smith in Oahu, HI. Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:

• Managing all aspects of a VDI architecture including the backend core services, VDI management infrastructure, VDI sessions, networking infrastructure, and thin clients.

• Troubleshooting and resolving network and system issues.

• Monitor active network and server infrastructure.

• Assist in coordinating planned network and system outages with all affected parties.

• Assist in performing root cause analysis for unplanned outages and reporting appropriately.

• Performing preventative maintenance on systems and equipment.

• Understanding of and experience with Software Defined Networks (SDN) and microsegmentation.

• Provide local and remote user support.

• Produce and maintain engineering, testing, and security documentation and artifacts necessary to meet and maintain government system Configuration Management and Cyber Security requirements.

• Make recommendations on improvements to training documentation, training requirements assessments, training briefs, and training systems.

​Qualifications:

• At least a SECRET security clearance.

• Bachelor's degree with a technical focus plus a minimum of 3 yrs experience with VMware product administration.

• Understanding of common DOD cyber security tools.

• Additional experience with Windows Server and Cisco networking administration.

• Ability to communicate technical ideas, issues, and resolutions to non-technical people in a professional manner.

• Ability to perform under stress with diplomacy and tact.

• Ability to prioritize and multitask.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

• 3 yrs of VDI administration preferred
• VCTA or higher VMware certification
• MCSA or higher Microsoft certification
• CCNA or higher Cisco certification
