The Front Office Receptionist promptly greets all patients and customers while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment. This position requires a high level of customer service while keeping the front office, lobby and all associated tasks running smoothly.

Education and/or Experience:
Required high school diploma or equivalent. Required minimum of 3 years in a medical office environment, with an emphasis on strong insurance nomenclature, EMR software competence as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred bilingual English and Spanish
1. Fulfills front office responsibilities as assigned which may include but not limited to:
a. Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic experience.
b. Check in/Check out process ensure return appointments are set and all orders completed
c. Capture Charges
d. Maintain and check schedules to organize patient flow
e. Accompany patients to exam/procedure room(s) as needed
f. Answer telephones, emails and queries through patient portal or other methods
g. Register new patients and modify any data in EMR relating to demographics, insurance and scanned images
h. Send and receive patient medical records as needed
i. Obtain lab, pathology and radiology reports, hospital notes, referral information, and any other needed medical information
j. Obtain radiology exams as needed to review with the physician prior to scheduling procedures
k. Reconcile schedule on a daily basis
l. Manage charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately
m. Collect co-payments and patient coinsurance balances
n. Answers and returns patient phone calls with pertinent information as needed
o. Review and respond to emails from referring physicians and clinicians
p. Verify insurance and collect patient balances as well as copay's/coinsurance/surgery deposits
q. Interpret for patient as necessary
r. Balance daily cash
s. Check and process faxes daily
t. All other tasks as needed based on business need
Medical office or billing/coding certification preferred
