Automotive Product Development Engineer

Neutron Controls is looking for a senior hardware engineer to fill a design position. In addition to design activities, the ideal candidate will utilize their past management experience to transition into our existing team of hardware and software engineers.
This individual will be self-motivated and take pride in ensuring our design services and product lines will maintain the quality and excellence customers expect and continue to improve beyond. They will have a deep understanding of the hardware aspects of embedded devices but also benefit from their good working knowledge of the software domain, such as low-level drivers, boot loaders, and middleware stacks.
Qualifications
- B. Sc. In Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- 10+ years of Embedded Systems hardware design experience
- Experience with microcontrollers and peripherals related to the automotive environment (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, HS/LS Drivers)
- Experience with memory interfaces and signal integrity for high-speed I/O
- Experience in analog/digital hardware & Power supply circuits
- EMC/EMI, ESD design strategies
- Proficient with related tools including CAD software (OrCAD is beneficial)
- Experience with professional hardware engineering best practices related to taking products through a full life-cycle
- Experience with ISO26262, ASPICE, AUTOSAR, etc…
Preference towards candidates with:
- AURIX TriCore MCU or similar
- Experience with the automotive environment, reliability, and safety requirements
- Experience with bootloaders and OTA updates
- Experience with ECU designs
Responsibilities:
- Working with suppliers and customers to review and develop requirements, app notes and datasheets in order to document and develop hardware designs
- Develop and document architecture and designs, including block diagrams, schematics and then interfacing with PCB layout designers
- Working directly with senior staff for task assignments, design reviews, hardware bring-up, analysis and validation, BOM management and production support
- Contribute ideas and increase overall productivity and creativity for technology advancement and ensure a positive work environment
