Job Description

Job Title: Level 1 – Audio Visual Technician

Department: Integration

Reports to: Project Manager

Employment Class: Full-Time

Pay Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Pay Range: Depending on Experience



The Level 1 Audio Visual Technician may have some, but not all, the experience required for the below tasks (based on relevant knowledge and experience level). For those tasks that are unfamiliar, training through certification courses, manufacturer training and/or mentoring through Neurilink team members will be provided.

  • Interface with External/Internal Clients
  • Train to and/or Installation of fabricated racks in-house or onsite at client location.
  • Train to and/or Installation of rigging/mounting of equipment and displays.
  • Train to and/or Installation of structured cabling to include pulling, terminating and testing cat5e/6, video, RGB, HDMI, DVI and audio cables.
  • Train to and/or Installation of all AV equipment to include: audio/ video conferencing equipment, distributed audio, digital signage, sound reinforcement, video projection, control systems and flat panel and projection screen mounting.
  • Responsible for signing out and securing inventory and non-inventory consumables per project.
  • Restocking and inventory control of van equipment/consumables daily.
  • Identify and assist in solving issues that will impact the project.
  • Provide effective communication by supplying daily updates to Project Managers.
  • Could act as Lead Technician on a project depending on size of project and technician’s skill/knowledge.
  • Ensure that project deliverables and milestones are met, including close out documentation and punch list items.
  • The ability to perform system level diagnostics, troubleshoot and report issues to Project Manager.  Training will be supplied for those with less experience.
  • Installation of client systems in the most efficient and effective manner to assure timely completion and maximum performance.  All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth while assuming a professional environment on site by self and installation teams.
  • Quality control/check on finished product/projects including testing.
  • Responsible for returning product to warehouse and inventory DOA.
  • Follow all safety guidelines of Neurilink and client requirements.



To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in a timely manner. You must also:  

  • Take ownership and responsibility of workmanship while being supported by an installation, engineering and project management team
  • Have a teachable disposition and a willing attitude towards continuing education.
  • Have a pleasant personality, neat appearance and the ability to deal professionally with clients and coworkers
  • Have a clean driving record, valid driver’s license and be insurable
  • Have a willingness and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding and operate power tools
  • Be willing to work evening and weekends from time to time and work out of town travel, as necessary
  • Have time management skills, be reliable and honest
  • Have excellent communication and computer skills


You must have a general understanding of, or experience with one or more of these areas of expertise:

  • Computer networking
  • Structured cabling, grounding, equipment rack fabrications, termination and calibration of audio video equipment
  • Commercial construction environments
  • Soldering and mechanical terminations



This job has no supervisory responsibilities



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Technical knowledge and proficiency in basic MS office applications

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Certifications within industry, manufacturer or individual products a plus
