Job Description

We have 1st shift positions open for Tier 2 and Tier 3 Engineer candidate at this time. This position will require after hours to be worked including being on call and working evenings, weekend and holidays.

 

Salary-Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 

Description:

The Engineering positions are top-level technical position for those with 4+ years of experience in IT. A NetOps Engineer ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support our customer’s core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked attached devices, software, and associated operating systems. A NetOps Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize our client’s benefit of their IT systems investments. This individual will provide technical guidance and supervision to technical staff along with stewardship and director level account management to a group of assigned customers.

 

Responsibilities:

· Answer helpdesk calls for our clients

· Provide frequent status updates for helpdesk customers

· Continually maintain a professional, courteous, and responsive relationship with clients

· Assist clients with technical support needs

· Participate in on-call rotation as escalation point for 24x7x365 support of all customers

· Oversee helpdesk intake queue and respond to helpdesk requests

· Team Lead of Engineering design and implementation of large scale network, server, and PC related projects

· Manage personal Ticket Queue, schedule, and communications to clients

· Perform proactive checks and tasks for clients

· Leverage an array of support tools to remotely troubleshoot and fix issues for clients

· Effective document issues and their resolutions for helpdesk tickets

· Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks

· Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)

· Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)

· Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

· Experience with automation software, scripting and Group Policies

· Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure

· Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools

· Proactively ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

· Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies

· Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.

· Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.

· Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.

· Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services.

· Collaborate with internal and customer technical staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.

· Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issue

· Follow policies and procedures for NetOps

· Provide technical direction to IT staff

· Additional duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

· Bachelors of Science in Information Technology preferred or similar employment experience level

· Mid-level and higher certifications other than application development are preferred

· Networking

o CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

o CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)

o JNCIA-Junos (Juniper Networks Certified Associate)

o JNCIS-ENT (Juniper Networks Certified Professional Enterprise Routing and Switching)

· Microsoft (CLOUD PLATFORM & ON-PREM INFRASTRUCTURE)

· Microsoft (DATA Management & Analytics)

· Virtualization (VMWARE)

· Other Engineering Level Certifications

· Minimum of six or more years of job experience IT

· Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products.

· Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.

· Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

· Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

· Good project management skills.

· Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.

· Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

· Highly self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

· Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.

· Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

· Strong customer service orientation.

· Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with emphasis on Team Leadership. Possess strong problem-solving skills

· Solid understanding of network and computer and infrastructure concepts

· Must be an effective communicator with both verbal and written interactions
