Job Description

In this role, you will plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of multiple client-facing IT projects delivering firewall, data center, network, unified communications/collaboration, and cloud solutions. The Senior Project Manager ensures objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time and budget parameters. You will be responsible for completing projects under or on budget and on schedule. You will lead multiple projects and teams, work with different project sponsors in large, corporate environments with notable governance and defined procedures.

 

This is a full-time, direct-hire role, not a contract, and some of our clients are US Federal Government entities that require US Citizenship to access their site locations

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve customer satisfaction through successful delivery of defined project scope and successful management of budget, risk, and schedule

  • Day-to-day management of the administrative portions of project delivery from inception to closeout, including coordinating meetings, developing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, developing regular status reports, and tracking action items and risks

  • Accurately forecast resources and project budget, reviewing actuals and remaining funds against forecast

  • Develop and maintain project schedules

  • A critical component of this role is the ability to multi-task, maintain proactive as well as efficient communication, and escalate critical issues

  • Coordinate/communicate escalations across internal teams and with the client

  • Collaborate with business units, application owners, and technical teams to coordinate change windows

  • Works in partnership with the technical leads and the Regional Manager to whom they report to proactively address and mitigate project risks and challenges

  • Support change windows during evening hours (as needed)

  • Review and improve processes in project delivery

 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience

  • Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited College or University

  • Current PMP certification

  • Experience in handling high volume and fast-paced projects where tactful leadership and cooperation are crucial to cost-effective operation, often simultaneously

  • Experience in preparing change orders

  • Excellent understanding of information technology projects

  • Responsible for other duties as assigned

  • Proficient in MS Project

 

It would be GREAT if you also had (any/all):

  • Proficient in MS Project (PMI-SP)

  • ITIL certification

  • CCNA (or better) certification
