Job Description

NerdsToGo is a leader in providing computer service to residential customers and small businesses and we take that seriously! The General Manager (GM) is key to the success of NerdsToGo in their local marketplace. As the ambassador of the brand, the GM is responsible for developing an awesome team of Nerds, Customer Service and Business Development Specialists who serve customers with onsite service and in-store at our service center.

Duties Include:

  • Business Development Demonstrated ability to create a lead list from scratch, target leads with sales and marketing activities and convert them to customers
  • Networking is a must! It is expected that the GM will attend several networking events a week
  • Customer Experience
    • Provide an amazing customer experience with every NerdsToGo interaction
    • Ensure onsite customers receive the full NerdsToGo onsite experience and instore customers are greeted promptly and receive our friendly in-store experience
    • Deliver the NerdsToGo Happiness Guarantee to every customer, because we are not happy until our customers are happy!
    • Maintain a welcoming store
    • Conduct customer surveys and implement improvements quickly
  • People Management
    • Demonstrated experience recruiting, hiring, onboarding and managing a team of at least 3-5+ employees
    • Experience managing IT Technicians and/or field service staff is a plus
    • Provide training and real time coaching to ensure high productivity within a small team environment
    • Motivate your team to achieve goals & objectives
    • Oversee and maintain all required employee documentation
    • Lead daily huddles and weekly team meetings to maintain strong communication
  • Daily Operations
    • Ensure team follows NerdsToGo standards on a daily basis
    • Manages required daily service call documentation and functions in our service call software
    • Ensures daily checklists and tracking sheets are completed
    • Enthusiastic about generating leads, educating them about NerdsToGo services and converting them to small business service agreements
    • Enters leads in CRM system and manages them through the NerdsToGo Sales Process
  • Marketing & Advertising
    • General understanding of paid advertising initiatives
    • Create a paid advertising calendar and execute each initiative to drive awareness & sales
    • Optimize paid initiatives based on ROI
    • High comfort level with conducting guerilla marketing activities in your primary marketing area
  • Financial Management
    • Ensure your store meets or beats sales goals and objectives
    • Create and manage operating budget
    • Review P&L weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually. Implement changes to grow revenue and manage expenses
    • Balance sheet management, cash flow management and other standard accounting functions.
    • Create daily & monthly flash report for franchise owner, identify and implement initiatives to grow revenue and manage expenses
    • Import daily sales into QuickBooks and reconcile with day end documentation
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Setting and meeting goals for service, operations, and financial results
    • Maintaining excellent customer service standards
    • Performing front-line customer service
  • Skills & Experience:
    • 3+ years in small business management including managing a team
    • Understanding of how to solve/fix Computer and IT issues.
    • Experience managing IT Technicians and/or field service staff is a plus
    • Demonstrated experience leading in a customer centric environment
    • Experience creating and managing an operating budget
    • Experience with P&L management, preferably for a small business
    • Experience with balance sheet, cash flow management and standard accounting functions
    • 2+ years of experience in QuickBooks with P&L management responsibility
    • Familiar with paid advertising initiatives
    • Comfort with conducting daily guerilla marketing tactics in the local community
    • Experience and comfort with outside sales
    • Familiar with sales cycles, CRM systems, data entry and follow up
    • Ability to multi-task
