Neapco is currently seeking to fill the full-time position of Buyer/Planner. This position is based out of our Beatrice, Nebraska location and will support the Materials group plan, expedite and follow up on activity to ensure materials, tools and supplies are on time to support manufacturing.

Position Summary:

Plan, expedite and follow through on all activities that will ensure materials, tools and supplies are on time to support manufacturing and customer shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain purchasing files.

  • Review and analyze “MRP and PRP” for work orders and purchase requisitions.

  • Production scheduling.

  • Expedite all delinquent raw materials.

  • Review and analyze all purchase orders before final closing.

  • Assist Manufacturing/Engineering in material activities related to process improvement.

  • Collect and report data for monthly reports.

  • Process all required reports.

  • Assist Accounting with discrepancies between receiving and payables.

  • Coordinate outside service orders and inventory.

  • Purchase assigned items.

  • Communicate schedules and forecasts to suppliers.

  • Reconcile all late purchase orders.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required by the position.

Required Skills:

  • Requires good math, phone and computer skills.

  • Must be a self-starter with good buying, planning, scheduling and problem solving skills.

  • Willing to accept responsibility.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Understand and execute verbal and written instructions.

  • Effective interaction with company personnel, including supervisors and managers.

  • Good negotiation skills.

  • MRP/PRP experience.

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED certificate required.

  • College degree in applicable field preferred.

  • APICS/CPM certifications preferred.

  • Minimum of one year production and inventory experience.
