Demonstrated spiritual maturity

5+ years of leadership experience in a church, business, or nonprofit organization

Proficiency with church database software, MS Office Suites

Proficiency with social media platforms and strategy

Demonstrated effective leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated fiscal responsibility/experience in personal and organizational settings

Licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel

Organizational leadership: 5 years (Required)


The Executive Pastor is responsible for ensuring that the ministry course of the First Nazarene Baptist Church is in alignment with biblical practices and the vision determined by the Senior Pastor in coordination with the Joint Board, lay leadership and ministerial staff

Coordinate planning, administration, scheduling of church programs, activities, and special events

This includes supervision and maintenance of the church calendar of events and reconciliation of program conflicts which may develop on staff or organizational levels

Serve as liaison for major ad hoc committees as assigned

Provide oversight and direction in the development of new ministry opportunities in the church and outreach opportunities in the community

Integrate the various ministries of the church to accomplish its mission as outlined in the purpose statement

Guide in the formulation and development of ministry area program statements

Rationale for programs as they relate to the overall mission of the church

Assist the Senior Pastor with oversight and coordination in implementing the strategic ministry plan adopted by the church

Supervise ministry objectives and goals evaluation:

Prior to beginning each church year, formulate with key ministry leaders a set of objectives and goals for the year, relative to their respective ministry

Conduct quarterly evaluation sessions with each leader to assess progress towards their objectives and goals; ensure alignment of all goals/activities with the church's mission statement

Work with all leaders in resolving conflicts that may arise

Lead and supervise paid staff; conduct staff evaluations in conjunction with the Personnel Committee

Coordinate with Personnel Committee in hiring to fill approved open positions

Assist Senior Pastor in research to develop and implement curricula for the various discipleship ministries of the church (ie., Sunday School, Bible Study, etc.)

Assist Senior Pastor in developing plan to increase the giving population by encouraging biblical financial management for church members and the corporate church body

Cooperate with the Senior Pastor, Joint Board, and other staff members in promoting the entire ministry plan of the church

Assist the Senior Pastor in the teaching and preaching ministry, as needed

Be available for counseling of church and non-church members, as needed

Be available for pastoral care activities, as needed (I.e., weddings, visits, funerals, special events, special worship services, etc.)

Develop recruitment, retention, and training model for enlistment of potential volunteer leaders and workers for all ministry areas

Utilize the services of the office and facilities staff, consistent with their Position Descriptions

Give full support to the operating budget of the church and avoid soliciting or expending funds not previously authorized

Serve as an effective staff liaison to assigned ministry teams and/or standing committees

Adhere to church-approved guidelines as set forth in the church's Bylaws and Policies and Procedures Manual

Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer and meditation

Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church

Financially support the work of ministries of the church by faithfully tithing and maintaining wise stewardship of remaining resources

Perform other duties and assignments as approved by the Deacon Board



Pay: $45,000 - $65,000.00 per year
