The VP, Sales is responsible for driving the profitable sales growth of Navitus. Other responsibilities of the VP, Sales include formulating departmental policies, sales plans pricing and incentive strategies, achieving efficient and effective sales results for each customer type and program/product line, and developing new sales territories and potential client base for service. This individual directs the activities of sales staff to perform to sales plans and standards of practice.

The VP, Sales is accountable for marketing the company’s products in accordance with corporate goals, objectives, and planning. Additionally, responsibilities of this position include formulating and executing sales plans to promote the company’s products and increase sales in conjunction with the Chief Growth Officer and ensuring that products are marketed in accordance with corporate goals, budgets, objectives, and profit margins.

How do I make an impact on my team?

  • Responsible for the profitable sales growth of Navitus. Identifies high growth sales opportunities in terms of Prospective Clients and new or revised products and programs as required by the market.
  • Provide resolution of non-routine prospective customer problems, including delivery, quality, and needs assessment for services.
  • Determine market opportunities and desire to bid/quote on new business, performance guarantees for significant new business, and contributes to pricing of per member per month fee schedules.
  • Manage the activities of direct sales executives and other staff to set priorities, determine product focus and expense management, develop new business, provide for staff training needs, and motivate to attain objectives.
  • Prioritize ideas for new product development efforts involving input from new and potential Clients.
  • Manage related financial functions including supervising customer credit approval processes, approving expense reports and mileage logs for direct and indirect employees, and authorizing expenditures for a variety of purposes.
  • Perform related analytical tasks including sales levels for trends in products sold, markets served, product and performance guarantees consolidation options and forecast sales and gross profit levels.
  • Prepare and monitor budget for sales organization.
  • Prepare annual and periodic revisions of the business sales plan.
  • Negotiate contractual relationships with customers or other business affiliates.
  • Develop marketing and sales materials to support activities.
  • Establish the goals, objectives, procedures, and measurements that define the performance and accountability of all staff personnel.

What our team expects from you?

  • A bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline is required
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience of progressive supervisory sales and marketing in a managed health care environment
  • Knowledge of the health care industry, insurance, and managed care modalities, negotiating techniques, and superior sales and marketing skills is a must
  • Experience with spreadsheet software, multiple systems applications, accounting and finance disciplines, total quality management, and value selling
  • Experience utilizing strong analytical skills to improve business strategy, organizational behavior, and leadership
  • Strong time management skills and principles of total quality management
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
  • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
