Navistar Direct Marketing is looking for a 3rd Shift (10pm to 6am) Inserting Department Supervisor to join their team! Navistar Direct Marketing is one of the largest direct marketing production companies in the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan Area, and a member of the Moore Group, a global leader in marketing solutions.


JOB SUMMARY

Directs all aspects of the production for the shift. Responsible for the overall production and efficiency of the shift.

Shift SupervisorPrimary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overseeing all production activities and ensuring work is completed on time.
  • Responsible for quality control checks throughout the production process.
  • Responsible for providing support necessary to maximize productivity.
  • Responsible for recording and reporting on production data.
  • Responsible for overall efficiency and productivity of the inserting department.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting equipment, training employees, and operating the equipment when needed.
Knowledge and Abilities
  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to work under pressure of time constraints.
  • Strong motivational and direction abilities.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis and occasionally more than 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods throughout each shift. Along with frequent bending, twisting and pulling.
  • Flexible with scheduled work hours.
  • Run and troubleshoot Flowmaster and Phillipsburg inserters
  • General understanding of USPS rules and regulations for mail sortation and postage requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 8-12 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Must have the ability to set-up, run, and troubleshoot both Flowmaster and Phillipsburg inserters.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
