Civil Engineer (2454)

Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for a Civil Engineer in Niskayuna, NY.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory develops advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of our Navy's submarine and aircraft fleet.

Develop and define project scope with sponsors.

Work with project team to develop performance specification and cost estimates and provide construction phase support for building renovation projects.

Oversee architectural-engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates & characterization for infrastructure projects.

Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors.

Requirements

• BS degree in civil engineering.
• Experience performing civil/structural engineering tasks including the development of contract documents, calculations and cost estimates
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards
• Experience in construction administration (submittal review, RFIs, construction site observations and documentation)

• EIT certificate and or PE license
• Engineering consulting experience
• Working knowledge of ASCE 7, AISC Steel Manual, and ACI 318

• Active L Clearance
