Job Title: Facilities Technician

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Manager/Supervisor

Location: Hazelwood, MO

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

SUMMARY

The Facilities Technician is responsible for general upkeep and maintenance of our facilities and grounds in Hazelwood, MO.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, engineering plans and work orders to perform required maintenance
  • Maintenance and repairs may include plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, HVAC and electrical systems
  • Conduct general housekeeping and basic grounds-keeping
  • Comply with NB employee policies and procedures and all applicable safety regulations and requirements
  • Operate a forklift and aerial lift
  • Organization and attention to detail, positive attitude, commitment to exceptional customer service, professional demeanor and appearance, and ability to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours, emergency calls, holidays and weekend assignments.
  • Working knowledge of applicable building and safety codes and regulations related to facilities, systems, and renovations.

  • Valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

· Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.

· Work involves frequent periods of standing and walking, which may include climbing ladders and staircases.

· Work involves stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning and reaching; bending at the waist. Indoor/outdoor work environment with exposure to weather extremes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: GED or an Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret quality documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical operations and concepts to solving quality process-related problems.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
