Job Description

Position Purpose:

The Distribution Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operation of the distribution, warehousing and transportation functions; including operations, logistics, security and safety in accordance with the Company's objectives. Trains staff to provide a superior level of service and promotes the service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation. Provides leadership, training and supervision; delegates day-to-day operations as necessary to achieve required results. Oversees warehousing efforts, transportation management and claims responsibility for inventory stock.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for distribution activities and personnel when the facility is open and facility security at all times.
  • Manages inventory stock control, the receipt, storage, pick and pack services and timely delivery of goods, shipment loading & transferring.
  • Plans all warehouse resources, activities, and objectives; sets targets in relation to company objectives.
  • Assumes responsibility for safety training, including equipment operation, emergency evacuation, and company policies.
  • Maintains housekeeping of warehouse and surrounding area.
  • Monitors and encourages employee performance
  • Lead and implement projects to address quality, material flow, through-put and productivity improvements and ensure results are sustainable.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Recruits, tests, hires and trains warehouse staff. Manages workforce through a system using projections, scheduling and labor reporting metrics
  • Awareness of productivity, by client, reporting efficiency, profitability and monitoring and recommending change
  • Defining organizational chart with written job descriptions, written employee evaluations
  • Excellent awareness of security and safety through monitoring and documentation
  • Articulating goals and initiatives in written form and managing projects step, by step
  • Sets examples for all staff in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational skills, and work habits.
  • Works with other departments within the company to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years Operations/Logistics experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and maintain/troubleshoot equipment.
  • Good Financial Management skills.
  • Flexibility with an ability to lead and work as part of a team.
  • B2B and B2C distribution fulfillment knowledge.
  • Excellent skills in MS Office including Word, Excel
