NCF is looking for a strong cloud architect and software engineering manager to help lead our cloud architecture and transformation effort. This includes helping to design, build, and deliver new cloud enabled capabilities that will run the entire end-to-end operations of NCF for years to come. This is a generational opportunity to impact and influence the design, architecture, and build out of our underlying systems. This new platform will enable NCF to grow and scale in accomplishing our mission of seeing lives changed by mobilizing resources across literally thousands of Christian ministries through inspiring biblical generosity. The ideal candidate is a strong player/coach who has a passion to build great innovative cloud-based solutions while leading and mentoring a team of engineers.

This role can be remote. We are hiring in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, KY, MI, MN, NC, PA, SC, TN, WI.

Reports to: Manager of Software Development & Administration

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Lead the effort to design and build new Azure cloud native capabilities and services.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership around architecture, design, development, quality assurance, and live site.
  • Design, implement, and deliver software to improve availability, reliability, scalability, latency, security, resiliency, and efficiency.
  • Design, implement, test, deploy, maintain, and improve our software components and services.
  • Participate in technical discussions and bring new ideas to the table.
  • Contribute to the positive, solution-focused and creative team spirit.
  • Lead and provide technical direction for the design and development of features, experiences and solutions for end-to-end business scenarios over the full stack.
  • Mentor and help guide junior team members to realize their full potential.
  • Contribute to debugging, troubleshooting, and driving analysis of an issue along with creation of automation to resolve problems permanently.

Experience, Education

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of cloud experience required.
  • Minimum 7 years of general software development and/or solutions architecture experience a must.
  • Experience with relational databases, ETL processes and data migrations preferred.
  • Experience with integrating solutions with CRM and ERP systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce APIs preferred.
  • Expert experience architecting and building software using Azure cloud services and capabilities (Azure Functions, Docker + Kubernetes, API management, Messaging, etc.)
  • Professional software development experience in Java/C#, JavaScript, SQL, and HTML/CSS
  • Hands on experience installing, configuring, and monitoring CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience with REST, GraphQL, and SOAP APIs.
  • Strong development experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including build processes.
  • An innovative thinker who is both technologically sound and has a good business operations perspective.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and unit test practices.
  • Expert at understanding and translating complex technical concepts with non-technical users at all levels of the organization.
  • Passion for improving engineering practices and producing high quality software.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and cross-team collaboration skills.
