The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) seeks a passionate and enthusiastic innovator, with strong organizational and management skills, to serve as our Chief Operating Officer. The COO will continue to build, lead, and strengthen our team in order to stop systems and corporations from enabling sexual exploitation.

 

This is a hybrid position that will help us strategically and operationally to meet our audacious goal of creating a world where people can live and love free from sexual abuse and exploitation. This is a critical role at an important time in the history of NCOSE and for the movement defending human dignity, and as such we are excited to find the perfect person to help us all succeed.

 

This is a new role to help oversee the day-to-day elements of running the organization, and for accelerating the professionalization of the organization and building the infrastructure as we continue to scale and grow into an unstoppable team. NCOSE’s objectives are to dismantle the pornography industry; stop demand for sex trafficking and prostitution; and to create a safer Internet where youth can connect and thrive. We need someone with the skill set not only for today, but to create the foundation for the organization that we hope to become.

 

The ideal applicant will be a fast learner and highly adaptable, great with people, highly organized, and both process-oriented and strategic. They will be a self-starter, extremely detail-oriented, and have extensive management experience. We seek someone to partner with the President and CEO, who can manage a large portfolio of responsibilities that will enhance and improve our organization’s operations, culture, and approach.

The COO will translate our vision and strategies into an actionable business plan. The COO is responsible for ensuring that the company's day-to-day operations are aligned with the business model and long-term goals.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting and retaining the best leaders to be on our team
  • Preserving and building a healthy and strong internal culture
  • Motivating team members to exceed our goals
  • Providing clarity of goals, purpose
  • Analyze team progress, metrics
  • Improving and facilitating team-to-team communication
  • Identifying urgent opportunities and reshuffling priorities
  • Setting the short-term agenda
  • Minimize risk and ensure department growth
  • Strengthen our infrastructure
  • Manage our DC Office
  • Strengthening and leading our HR processes
  • Organizational structure
  • Ensuring nonprofit compliance
  • Monitor expenditures and resources to ensure budgets are met
  • Oversee negotiations with agreements and contracts

 

Qualifications:

  • Passionately opposed to sexual exploitation and be in alignment with the values and objectives of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation.
  • Exceptional communication, written, interpersonal, and strategic skills.
  • Management Experience: Demonstrated exceptional management experience with a complex, fast-moving organization.
  • Experience: 5+ years in a business or executive management role focused on operations for a complex organization.
  • Must be a self-starter and highly adaptive to take advantage of opportunities for high impact
  • Candidate must have requisite computer and technological skills.
  • Government grant accounting and non-profit experience is preferred.

 

Compensation: commensurate with experience


Benefits:

  • NCOSE offers a competitive benefits package including dental, vision, medical insurance, 401K, paid time-off, including 10 extra paid time-off when the entire office is closed, and paid holidays.

 

Location: You are expected to be in our Washington, DC office Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.


Expected Start Date: February or March 2023
