TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:
Less than 10%, to fulfill job requirements.
HOURS and SCHEDULE:
Generally, Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm (minimum 37.5 hours within five (5) days per week); unless otherwise required or approved by management. Hybrid schedule available with up to 2-3 days telework.
REPORTS TO:
This position reports to the Art Director.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC CONTACT:
Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Web & Digital Content Designer is a member of the Content & Community Engagement division responsible for creating compelling creative assets for web, digital, and print. This position is a key contributor to NCMEC’s web properties (MissingKids.org, SafeToCompete.org, NetSmartzKids.org, etc.) through web design, content management system strategy, UI best practices, and component development. The position also helps fulfill organizational need for design support on multimedia production, digital marketing ads, events, social media campaigns, and print projects/publications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create web content layout solutions to enhance the user experience for key audiences on NCMEC’s web platforms, including families, child serving professionals, donors, volunteers and more.
- Stay informed about developments and design trends related to NCMEC’s Content Management System – Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
- Maintain NCMEC brand, visual consistence on all websites and digital materials.
- Collaborate with Content & Community Engagement team as well as software engineers and developers in Technology Division to maintain all websites and assets in AEM and external web platforms.
- Collaborate with multi-media designers to create engaging animations, graphics, and infographics for internal and external use for all websites and social media platforms.
- Collaborate with designers and animators to create print projects such as but not limited to corporate materials, age-appropriate prevention and educational materials, topic-based tip-sheets, events and tradeshow signage, marketing ads, etc.
- Create concepts, mood boards, and mock-ups for digital and traditional design projects.
- Provide creative design solutions and support web updates for outreach, training, and events team.
- Create easy-to-use page layout templates for AEM authors to use when creating new pages or sections.
- Maintain knowledge of current web design trends and UI design aesthetics.
- Perform quarterly UI testing to ensure usability and effectiveness of components and layout solutions.
- Perform quarterly ADA testing/scan to offer design solutions to ensure all websites and publications are 508 compliant.
- Identify and troubleshoot UX problems using creative problem solving (e.g. responsiveness).
- Maintain a working knowledge of user personas, user stories, and storyboards.
- Develop design solutions and create user flows, wireframes, prototypes and mockups for new websites, micro sites, and landing pages.
- Leverage knowledge of data analytics and visualization to enhance content development and marketing.
- Support the development and maintenance of creative assets and layout for NCMEC emails, newsletters, and campaigns.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, UI/UX, Graphic Design, Digital Design, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of professional experience in web design and design for digital and traditional platforms.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Adobe XD and Figma.
- Demonstrated ability with HTML5, CSS3, Content Management Systems, and responsive web design.
- Basic JavaScript skills are a plus.
- Knowledge of design fundamentals such as typography, color, composition, and hierarchy.
- Strong technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite, especially in After Effects, Adobe Express, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Knowledge of desktop publishing is a plus.
- A strong portfolio that displays creativity and technical ability.
- Knowledge of website layout and usability.
- Ability to apply best practices and use creative problem solving.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and identify and work around obstacles.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues on the team and throughout the organizations, as well as external partners, to ensure that creative is on-brand and consistent with the organization’s design and imagery guidelines.
