Provides direct, group, small group and individual instruction to students aged K-8 in topics inside the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) subject areas in our facility and also at off-site locations in and around Napa Valley. Communicates and coordinates with customers, staff and students. Performs basic sales and customer relations functions. Performs minor housekeeping duties.
Help senior staff develop, plan and execute STEM curriculum
Teach a mixture of robotics, coding, 3D design & printing, arts & crafts, digital media and other classes
Simple, routine maintenance and troubleshooting of Academy equipment (electronic and otherwise)
Assessment, documentation and tracking of student performance according to Academy guidelines
Supervision of students and campers during class/camp hours
Training of summer interns during “intern week” training camp
Mentoring of summer interns during summer camps
Simple, routine housekeeping duties
“Outside the Box” opportunities to shine:
Assist senior staff with marketing material development
Design and execute birthday party events in accordance with customer wishes and Academy guidance
Help host special events, such as paint nights /date nights
Tutoring students in various subjects, including math and reading

Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma (with unweighted GPA >3.8 if less than 4 years work experience)
Willingness to learn to teach science topics (robotics, coding, 3D printing, etc) and control a classroom of K-8 students for an hour
Desire to challenge yourself
Own, reliable transportation with clean driving record
Ability to pass a DOJ fingerprinting review (working with kids)
Highly Desired Qualifications & Skills
AA/AS/BA/BS or higher
Substitute teaching credential or higher
Experience with kids in a learning environment (camps, clinics, sports coaching, substitute teaching, etc)
Knowledge and experience with robotics, coding, and/or 3D printing
A portion (50-75%) of this position’s work time is spent in our facility at 2020 Redwood Rd, Napa, CA. Our business hours vary but are mostly daytime hours and we are seldom open past 7pm. Another portion (25-50%) of this position’s work time is spent on work site locations, such as local elementary schools (Napa, Yountville) and other facilities within Napa County. The work requires direct contact with, and supervision of, children ages 5 - 15 in a variety of locations and scenarios.
Job requires standing for long periods of time without sitting breaks at times (up to 2 or more hours). Job requires carrying medium sized boxes weighing 25 - 30 pounds over distances no longer than ¼ mile (car to facility).
