Director, Accounting

In support of our strategic focus of achieving profitable growth within our US operations, we are recruiting a Director of Accounting. This position will serve as a member of the US Leadership Team, providing both strategic and tactical support to Nammo US and its subsidiaries within the Nammo US Shared Service structure.

The Director of Accounting must be a proven leader with technical expertise and a strategic mindset driven to create a positive and meaningful impact upon our organization. The successful candidate will provide sound financial advice to strategically enhance the financial performance and business objectives.   Success in this role will require effective leadership of the Shared Services Accounting team and driving transformational change within the day-to-day responsibilities and processes of the function. This position may require some travel, both domestic and international.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction for the Accounting function: Budget preparation, reporting and management; Cost Variance Analysis; Cash Management/Working Capital; Forecasting; Compliance Reporting; Risk Management; Accounts Payable and Receivable; Payroll oversight; Audit preparation and management.
  • Lead, develop and support members of the Accounting team.
  • Manage policies ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, DCAA and DCMA and other regulations
  • Support insurance renewal data collection preparation including interaction with insurance brokers and providers.
  • Manage allotment of funds for capital projects and interact with the leadership team and management to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal and external financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Manage and Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with external auditors as necessary.
  • Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
  • Oversee and manage financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, petty cash and cash flow forecasts
  • Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting.
  • Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with government laws, rules and regulations.
  • Support One Nammo and synergies within the Group
  • Participate in Acquisition Planning Strategy and Integration
  • Drive forward and support continuous improvement programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field from accredited university.
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education, MBA, CPA and/or Professional Certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint ERP and IBM Cognos preferred.
  • SME: In-depth knowledge and application of the FAR, DFAR, CAS, SOX & ITAR and relevant US Government contracting laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Proven problem solver with ability to develop effective financial operational strategies.
  • Ability to accomplish and lead difficult financial analysis.
  • Understand contract design and structure to include: FFP, CPIF, CPFF, CPAF, IDIQ, FMS, and, competitive and sole source procurement's.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication (oral and written) skill required.
  • Ability to influence, mentor and develop others.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate, strong interpersonal skill and proven team player.
  • Superior MS Suite proficiency.
  • Success in a fast-paced environment through ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize and work under limited supervision.
