Job Description

Job Title: Regional Sales Manager (RSM)

Department: Sales & Marketing

Reports To: Director of Sales & Marketing or Chief Operating Officer

Position Summary: The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is a sales professional who is highly skilled at finding ways to drive exponential growth and new business; must be a self-starter, highly accountable, and meet or exceed sales targets; will develop and deploy best sales practices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop demand for and adoption of existing and new assays within existing and prospective account base to achieve assigned territory goals
  • Develop and execute call plans and key account strategies to specifically add new accounts to the territory
  • Demonstrate specialized and comprehensive sales knowledge, including experience working with multiple health care distribution providers
  • Demonstrate sales success in a highly competitive and developing growth product segment
  • Build, foster and maintain positive and highly credible customer relationships; coordinate and collaborate with various functional areas and departments within each customer site (Laboratory Leadership, Hospital Administration, Disease Specialty Group, and Point-of-Care (POC) Team) to ensure successful customer adoption
  • Drive strategy in regional Integrated Delivery Networks and/or complex accounts in the acute and POC settings
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an on-going basis; influence and address customer expectations
  • Convey timely information to the Chief Operating Officer, Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Manufacturing, and Customer Service team regarding field sales activities, events, changes, and trends to maximize sales, revenue, and marketing opportunities
  • Ensure that all administrative tasks (i.e., training modules, expense reports, sales forecasts and managing customer data in the company CRM, HubSpot) are completed promptly and accurately
  • Travel within assigned territory up to 75% and provide customer-focused service and effectively support business goals; overnight travel is required
  • Work effectively in a home-based environment
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude during company functions and public events to appropriately represent the culture of the company, encourage team camaraderie, and promote enthusiasm for growth in market share and revenue
  • Maintain a high degree of ethics and professionalism while interacting with customers, vendors and co-workers

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years' sales experience of in vitro diagnostics (e.g. molecular and/or lateral flow point of care) or medical device sales experience
  • Strong track record of building and developing high performing sales territories
  • Direct sales & distributor sales experience
  • Proven planning, forecasting, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, high energy, team player, problem solving skills, and flexibility
  • Computer proficiency using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to rapidly adapt to fluid product line changes
