Position Summary

As a Proposal/RFP Specialist on the Novum team, you will report to the Associate Director, Operations Administration to support the pricing of new and existing business opportunities for clinical trials research studies. Proposal/RFP Specialists support the organization throughout the proposal process through identification, qualification, and response. Proposal/RFP Specialists leverage previous responses and templates while coordinating and soliciting input from cross-functional teams to develop winning proposals. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, good organizational skills, be inquisitive, and be able to be equally successful working independently and within a team. Candidates must possess a general ability to use standard tools such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. The candidate should also have excellent communication skills, specifically the ability to communicate pricing strategies to others that may have less expertise in the subject area. A high degree of collaboration and communication is expected and encouraged for success in this role.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform proposal preparation, coordinate vendor quotes, and develop support material as needed with guidance from supervisor/manager.

• Review and interpret RFP/RFQ documentation; identify and develop questions based on the requirements that impact pricing strategy.

• Develop cost / price exhibits to convey the appropriate information necessary to convey our cost / price data effectively

• Develop and communicate pricing strategies within proposals

• Finesse final proposal to reflect a nuanced and targeted response to the specific sales opportunity demonstrating an understanding of the opportunity and the client's needs

• Conduct proposal reviews with management in a timely and accurate manner

• Ensures accuracy of content and proposals provided to the Project Management and Business Development Teams

• Help manage proposals, data, information, and other elements

• Perform multiple tasks simultaneously and have knowledge and willingness to abide by company rules and procedures.

• Take direction and input from various cross-functional departments within the company

• Deliver high quality proposals that meet all Novum brand standards

• Attend and take minutes during internal group and Client meetings as required/requested

• Perform other duties as assigned.


• Strong Computer skills using Microsoft Office 365

• A high level of accuracy and comfort working with numbers, formulas, and formatting in excel

• Strong attention to detail

• Effective time management and organizational skills to independently prioritize workload, multi-task, and excel in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Works well with various personalities and is a self-starter

• 2-3 years of experience working within a Contract Research Organization conducting clinical trial research studies

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and team skills

• Self-motivated and a critical thinker
