The NOV Aftermarket Group is currently recruiting for a Controls Field Service Technician to join our team in Williston, ND. The main responsibilities of this role include\:

JOB SUMMARY
Provide a high level of customer service for product maintenance and repair in the field.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on the safe and proper operation of NOV products.
  • Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on how to properly operate the system.
  • Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.
  • Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner.
  • Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, commission, troubleshoot and repair NOV Control Systems (Amphion, CyberBase, EDA, KEMS
  • Install, commission, troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) S& and Allen Bradley
  • Install, commission, troubleshoot and repair VFD and/or SCR
  • Obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner
  • Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on the safe and proper operations of NOV products
  • Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers how to properly operate system
  • Work in shop on repairs when needed
  • Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate department
  • Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner
  • Perform other work related tasks as assigned
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures

  • High school diploma/GED. Electronics related education a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic/control circuits
  • Ability to utilize various electrical diagnostic tools including multimeters, oscilloscope and basic hand tools.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and work on various NOV equipment
  • Experience/knowledge of mechanical/hydraulic a plus
  • Posses a valid drivers license and excellent driving record
