Job Description

We are seeking a Spanish Family Practice, Pediatrics Or Internist Nurse Practitioner to become a part of our team! You will focus on providing high-quality patient care as part of a healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illnesses
  • Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients
  • Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
  • Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care

  • Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
  • Ability to build rapport with patients

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • POSITION SUMMARY

    Provide primary care services to adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions to include the performance of physical examinations, formulating assessment and treatment plans, utilizing diagnostic tests appropriately and counseling patients in collaboration with a primary care physician. The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) assumes direct supervision of nurse practitioner students assigned to the clinic.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual with fluency in Spanish.

  • Masters degree in nursing with a specialization in Adult Care required.

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Louisiana required.

  • At least one year of full-time experience as a clinical nurse practitioner preferred.

  • Possess prescriptive authority.

  • Certified by the State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practitioner of Nursing (Primary Nurse Associate).

  • Board-certified by, ANA, NAPNAP, ANCC, and/or AANP required.

  • Proficiency in the physical assessment required.

  • Ability to use various standard computer applications, including word processing applications, required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse, patient-centered, holistic atmosphere required.

  • Flexibility to work in multiple clinical settings strongly preferred.
