The Office of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman is currently seeking to engage the services of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to participate in its COVID-19 Social Isolation Project. This is a contracted hourly position, 35 hours per week and the hourly rate is $40.00. The selected candidate will be required to register with the State approved provider of contract services.
This position is temporary, will last for approximately 9 months and will cover the Central New Jersey area which includes Burlington, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset and Union counties. The desired candidate will reside in this region, must possess a valid driver’s license, and use their own vehicle to travel (mileage and tolls are reimbursed).
LTCO Social Isolation Project staff conduct on-site visits to long-term care residents at nursing homes and assisted living facilities to assess the impact of social isolation due to the COVID-19 public health emergency. Engaging with residents, identifying their needs and making recommendations to facility staff to improve the residents’ lives is the main goal of the SIP. The successful candidate should be an intrepid and outgoing advocate for people living in long-term care and should be willing to travel to multiple facilities throughout the southern New Jersey area every week.
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker or CTRS candidates for the COVID-19 Social Isolation Project must have graduated from an accredited college or university, possess valid licenses/certifications, and have worked in a long-term care setting for at least 5 years.
