MUST BE US CITIZEN AUTOMATION AND CONTROLS ENGINEER – ELECTRICAL Direct Hire Location- REMOTE – 25 % travel If interested send updated resume- firstname.lastname@example.org Benefits effective date of hire Summary of Position Responsibility: Work with a multidisciplinary engineering team to implement varied and complex automation & motion control solutions on industrial machines within the industries of packaging, printing, product storage and facilities. Travel is required to customer sites as required to analyze issues and apply/commission solutions. Available/willing to work overtime to meet project commitments, as required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Design/specification of multiple axis AC servo systems for various applications with regards to positioning, speed, inertia, torque requirements, load sharing, gain, draw, winder, operating environment, and performance tolerances. Also involves recording & analysis of velocity/position/torque traces, understanding of electronic camming, position regulation vs. velocity control, and frequency tuning & recognition of stable/unstable system responses. Siemens S7 and Allen Bradley ControlLogix & CompactLogix PLC automation of machine and process control, often in a multi-PLC architecture, interfacing to remote I/O, drives & HMIs, utilizing Profibus, Profinet, ControlNet, EtherNet/IP, Ethernet, and other industry networks. Siemens Masterdrive & Simotion/Sinamics, Allen-Bradley PowerFlex & Rexroth/Indramat motion control technologies utilizing Simolink, Profinet, DriveCliQ, EtherNet/IP, Sercos and other industry networks. Familiarity with rotating industrial electromechanical systems Valid driver’s license and good driving record is required. Knowledge & Experience: BSEE / BSME, BSET, or combination of education/experience 6+ years of experience in the automation industry Proficient in Design/Drafting Tools AutoCAD and SolidWorks Programming Logic Controllers (PLC) (e.g.
Siemens Step7 & TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000) Usage of Ladder, StatementList and StructuredText programming within any of the above environments Programming Motion Control Systems (e.g. Siemens Scout, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, Connected Components Workbench & DriveTools SP) Usage of Ladder, StatementList and StructuredText programming within any of the above environments Configuring and designing HMI systems (e.g. Siemens WinCC & TIA Portal, Allen Bradley PanelView & FactoryTalk) Familiar with Industry Standards UL and CE Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy Important Competencies: Able to think designs through completely Action oriented Self-Motivated Team-oriented, with ability to work independently Ethical, integrity and trustworthy Organized and proactive Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner Strong time management skills Ability to adapt to changing circumstances
