NBI, an established leader in the development of professional continuing legal education seminars and distance learning events across the U.S., has an exciting opportunity on our Content and Business Development teams. The Content Analysis & Acquisitions Editor will perform a dual role in #1 managing the overall portfolio and editing internally created content; and, #2 acquiring externally created content. The position requires effective pivoting between the two roles; while applying his/her unique understanding of the legal profession, specialized knowledge of attorney continuing education needs and partnering experience. The Editor’s success will be measured by effective development and management of an improved process for identifying content gaps and needs; influencing the creation of innovative content while maintaining its relevancy and practicality; and identifying partners with whom to share content and negotiate win-win revenue gains. He/She will report to the Senior Director administratively as well as for Internal content functions #1. For external content #2 she/he will work closely with both Senior Director and the Sales Director. Highlights of Main Functions include: Customer Knowledge ~ Understanding attorney’s and other legal business professional’s workflow and practice needs and translating this knowledge into continuing education needs, with ultimate conversion into product offerings across all types of law. Content Portfolio Management and Needs Assessment ~ Work with Sr. Director, Content Development Supervisor, Marketing Director and Event Scheduling Supervisor to manage and analyze the overall content portfolio. Identify content gaps, develop strategies for new, updated and repurposed content while deciding whether to build /buy/partner. Content Editing ~ As a key member of our Portfolio and Content Development teams, influence and edit the substantive aspects and positioning of our topic ideas, agendas and course creation. Custom Content ~ Liaising between and collaborating with Outbound Sales team, internal Content Development team and external sources to create custom content for large customer accounts. Partner Relationship Management ~ Identifying partnering opportunities for content sharing and acquisition; along with negotiating revenue sharing logistics and agreements, and overall management of the partner relationship. National Business Institute’s main office is located at Eau Claire, Wisconsin; however, we do maintain a small office in the Minneapolis area (Woodbury). This position is flexible in working out of both offices, however, will require at least 2 days each week in Eau Claire. Candidates selected for in-person interviews will be required to undertake writing and editing tests. Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 3 - 5 years
