We are seeking a mid-level Interior Designer or Interior Architect to work on a diverse range of institutional work including Healthcare, Science, Higher Education & Corporate design and planning. The position will offer the candidate opportunities to grow within the firm and exposure to an innovative, fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. We are seeking talented, highly motivated Designers who can work independently and collaboratively with a team on the design of high-performance environments.
Potential candidates will join a dynamic design firm with an award winning interior design practice working regionally, nationally and globally. Working closely with clients, multi-disciplinary teams, and studio design leaders, our project designers are responsible for conceptualizing and integrating ideas into space, expression and experience. Successful candidates will embody strong conceptual design abilities, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and the motivation to engage with the array of NBBJ's resources in achieving, innovative, idea driven, and sustainable outcomes Your New Role: Successful track record of Interior design projects in Healthcare, Science, Higher Education or Corporate Interiors.
Strong ties to the design community in the Bay Area; ability to network and make connections with prospective clients and future staff Ability and willingness to participate in the implementation of an aesthetic from programming and concept design to final selection of furniture, fixtures and materials Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment to develop the best ideas that support the craft of design Mentor with a desire to foster education and professional development of studio interiors staff Advocate of interior design excellence Understanding of the connection importance of design, process, delivery and communication on every project delivered by the studio Facilitator in bringing the highest level of consistency and rigor to our interior design process and documents for all studio projects What you will need to Succeed: 5- 8 years of professional experience in Interior Design or Interior Architecture Bachelors' Degree in Interior Design or Architecture; NCIDQ preferred LEED accreditation within 18 months of joining the firm Knowledge of all aspects of interior design including tenant improvement design, space planning, color and material selection, FF&E, lighting design, and vendor management Strong verbal and graphic communication skills, excellent client relationship skills and talent for working with diverse teams of designers Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit; knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign desired *Please enclose a PDF (no more than 4MB) with 5-10 examples of your most relevant work.
