Job Description

 

Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to PC’s/laptops, hardware, VOIP phones, or software. Responds to user requests, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem, and determines and implements solution.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

·          Provides technical assistance, support, and timely follow up for user requests and issues related to PC’s/laptops, software, and hardware, printers, multi-function printers, mobile devices, and other technology equipment.

·          Responds promptly to requests either in person or over the phone and documents encounters in current ticketing system.

·          Assist with knowledge base and training manuals.

·          Trains users on basic computer skills and common use of software.

·          Offers real-time troubleshooting to users and provides support to other support analysts as needed.

·          Walk users through problem-solving process if resolving online.

·          Ask specific and concise questions to determine nature of problem.

·          Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.

·          Perform regular maintenance on PC’s, laptops, printers and MFP devices.

·          Track and update licenses in advance of expiration for software, etc.

·          Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.

·          Resolve basic problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems at basic level, escalate to Network Administrator depending on issues found.

·          Manage checklists for all new users including computer configuration, printer configuration, phones, email, software logins/setup, etc.

·          Install computer peripherals for users.

·          Follow up with users to ensure issue has been resolved.

·          Gain feedback from users about hardware and software performance.

·          All other duties as assigned.

 

Must have working knowledge of:

·          Microsoft Windows 7 & 10; Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, 2016; Office 365, Microsoft Projects 2010, 2013.

·          Adobe PDF and other PDF software; Antivirus and Malware Software including diagnostics; BIOS updates; all drivers – printers, graphics, etc.; Java; Flash; and other business software.

·          Must be able to effectively resolve hardware and software compatibility issues.

Specific Education and Job Requirements:

·          Associate degree in Information Technology, or the ability to obtain the degree

·          Prefer Associate Degree in Information Technology related field. CompTIA A+ or other industry certifications highly valued.

·          Strong software aptitude

·          Excellent computer skills

·          Experience with Help Desk Support

·          Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary.

·          Excellent Hardware and Software Troubleshooting and Repair Skills

·          Proven ability to work independently and as a team member

·          Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

·          Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills

·          Proven ability to work independently and as a team member

·          Worked in a similar position for a minimum of 2 years.

·          Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)

·          Real-world experience in all technical careers is preferred.
