Human Resources Assistant Part-Time

The National Association for the Education of Young Children is seeking a part-time Human Resources Assistant to join the HR Team. Working part-time, daytime hours the HR Assistant provides support to specific processes and administrative procedures relating to hires, terminations, benefits, and files. Hours can be flexible and up to 20 hours per week. Position can be a hybrid arrangement (remote/onsite) or fully remote according to current policy.
NAEYC is a professional membership organization that works to promote high-quality early learning for all young children, birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. NAEYC advances a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and supports all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children.
- New Hire Onboarding: prepare and track new hire documents; create new electronic folders
- Benefits Administration: provide emails and attachments to launch benefits changes and claims initiation
- Offboarding: prepare and track offboarding documents, schedule meetings
- HR Department Support: organize and maintain electronic folders and files; maintain organization chart and employee contact lists
- Communication: monitor HR's general email box; triage messages to HR team members; respond to employee inquiries and requests for assistance
Education and Experience
Ongoing interest and pursuit of learning in Human Resources
Related experience, full-time or part-time, in a professional office or human resources department helpful
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Personal motivation to learn
Highly computer literate including MS365 and SharePoint
Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, listening
Ability to follow directions and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner with keen attention to details
Professional approach to providing exceptional service to employees
Willing and able to maintain flexibility and patience with changing priorities

Position Designation: Business Support: Business Support indicates that the role supports the overall strategic direction of NAEYC, but is not required to travel, have a daily presence in the office, or be called upon in the event of an emergency or crisis. This role is eligible for telework and eligible to be fully remote.
