Graphic Design Manager

My Marketing Matters is a fast growing print marketing company looking for a Graphic Design Manager to join our design team. The ideal candidate will manage a team of designers, evaluate individual design deliverables and overall team performance, and provide a keen business sense to the organization. We are looking for someone to deliver critical feedback and encouragement to team members. Responsibilities include the development and implementation of successful design strategies. The Graphic Design Manager will lead the design team and manage multiple client deliverables to ensure successful completion within set deadlines and budgets.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage and oversee graphic design team and ensure client deliverables are evenly distributed among the design team with proper resource forecasting for all deliverables

  • Manage day-to-day workload, communicate effectively in a quick turnaround environment, and understand when to escalate issues

  • Organize, manage, and prioritize the workflow from creative development through the delivery of materials

  • Be adept at working on multiple projects simultaneously and as part of a team

  • Create, design, and format business development and marketing materials including brochures, proposals, presentations, flyers, postcards, maps, newsletters, illustrations, charts, graphs and other collateral, as needed

  • Develop materials to communicate critical messages and key selling propositions

  • Responsible for prepress flight checks and packaging of files, quality control for all collateral, expert proofing

  • Implement and maintain a high standard of design, adhering to corporate branding standards

  • Recommend new solutions/technologies to the Executive Team to improve internal design strategies and client deliverables

  • Ensure that agreed-upon team workflow/process is followed

  • Participate actively in all necessary company and design team planning meetings

  • Meet on a consistent basis with each designer to ensure that they are working towards their career goals and meeting milestones along the way

  • Work with the General Manager to define clear roles and responsibilities within the design team to ensure that there are career paths as the team continues to expand


  • Significant experience with Design tools (Adobe Creative Suite)

  • Experience using Presentation tools (PowerPoint, Google Slides)

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience in the print industry

  • Ability to thrive is a small business environment and work with Executive Team to come up with creative solutions

  • Ability to communicate openly and clearly with teammates and clients

  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills

  • Attention to detail with strong organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to use strong analytical and artistic approach to solve complex issues

  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective relationship building skills

  • Strong delegation power
