Job Description

The Outside Sales Representative will work with other members of the sales team to grow the service offerings of our existing customers, create new customers, and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas while increasing customer satisfaction. This will be done by leveraging various marketing channels and developing leads based on these channels.

Responsibilities

  • Sells home security, home automation & small business security, and services over the phone and in-person in customers’ homes.
  • Prepares quotes, contracts, and RFP/RFI responses for potential customers and delivers and explains them
  • Maintains all quote documentation with accurate pricing and configurations
  • Follows up on new leads and referrals on an ongoing basis
  • Generates leads through creative, traditional, and social media marketing
  • Develops, maintains, and schedules routine communications to enhance the relationships with current customers and potential customers and leads
  • Generates new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
  • Determines customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions via direct review of customers’ homes and their needs
  • Determines solutions for customers in a consultative sales manner
  • Increases sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales, and offering promotional sale items
  • Educates customers about terminology, features, and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
  • Contacts customers following each sale to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction, answer any questions and resolve any concerns.
  • Uses both phone and in-person sales avenues to satisfy clients and achieve company goals
  • Attends all sales meetings at the office in person
  • Regularly attend and actively participate in multiple Community, Realtor, and Homeowner Associations (HOAs) to generate additional sales opportunities
  • Attends job starts on the first day of installation
  • Instructs clients on the use of the system(s)
  • Attends all sales calls with local management
  • Other related duties as required by management

Qualifications And Competencies

  • Four-year College Degree strongly preferred
  • 1 - 3 years related sales experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Individual must be highly motivated to attain company goals, must have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of My Alarm Center’s technology
  • Proficient in MS Office software, especially MS Excel
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Well-developed presentation skills
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license and be able to regularly drive to customers’ homes

Physical Requirements

  • Be able to sit, walk, and stand for long hours at a time
  • Effectively communicate both in person and by telephone
  • Be able to effectively operate standard office equipment
  • Must be able to see up close and long-distance and adjust focus
